Community-Based Education, Inc.

At GACBE
We aim to promote empowerment, self-determination, and meaningful collaboration among educators, students, and community partners to create and sustain community-based education in schools. Through our programs, students use academic and 21st-century skills to learn about and improve their communities, with their communities. We strive to foster a love of learning and curiosity that inspires students to become lifelong learners and active participants in their communities.
Community Advocacy Project (CAP)
Our signature program, the GACBE Community Advocacy Project allows students to use academic and 21st-century skills to learn about and improve issues that impact their communities. In collaboration with community partners, students will collect quantitative and qualitative data on their issues of concern and write informative, argumentative, and/or persuasive essays on the topics. They will develop, hypothesize, execute, and reflect on action plans to make changes in their areas of concern. Finally, students will be invited to present their research and make a “call to action” to the greater community at the Annual GACBE Community Advocacy Project Expo
